CRANSTON — The state police are investigating the death Tuesday of a man being held in the medium security unit of the Adult Correctional Institutions. According to state Department of Corrections spokesman J.R. Ventura, corrections officers found the unnamed man unresponsive in his single cell at the John J. Moran Medium Security facility. "The Department of Corrections Investigative Unit and the Rhode Island State Police are investigating the incident. At this time, no foul play is suspected," Ventura said. Ventura said he could not provide more information until the next of kin is notified. The death marks the second at the prison in a matter of weeks. A corrections officer was placed on paid administrative leave after the death of 49-year-old Timothy McQuesten at the state prison's Intake Service Center, which also remains under investigation.
