April 22, 2021 Richard Howard WATERBURY – Richard W. Howard, 91, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, in his home with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Delores (Rubino). Dick was born in Waterbury on Nov. 16, 1929, son of the late Willian and Eva (Bendler) Howard. Richard was a graduate of Leavenworth High School, class of 1947, where he played three years of baseball, then going on to play in the City Amateur League, and he became a popular pool and billiards player. Dick then enlisted in the United States Army, and served honorably during the Korean conflict, and was also a lifelong member of the Veterans of Foreign War. On his first furlough, he married the love of his life, Delores Rubino, with whom he shared seventy years together. After retiring as a general foreman in the manufacturing industry, he devoted his time to family, friends, and his favorite sport, golf!
