A change to a Rural Municipality (RM) of Prince Albert bylaw, should help ease some stress for those people leasing a property. The fire management bylaw amendment allows the renter to get a burning permit so long as the permission is written into the lease agreement they have with the property owner. If the renter wanted to get a permit in the past, they would be required to provide a permission letter from the landowner. “It caused a lot of grief,” RM administrator Roxanne Roy told paNOW. Roy provided one example where a man who rents from a lady, who is currently in a long term care home and does not have access to email or a fax machine.
