The town council’s town development committee is waiting for results of a metro count of traffic speeds and volumes in Silver Street before deciding what, if any, measures could be introduced. It says any improvements could depend on progress on housing developments on the Western Urban Extension. Committee chairman Cllr Paul Macfarlane said: “Silver Street is important as the western gateway to the town centre. It gives many visitors their first impression to the town.
