M62 closed eastbound from J20 and westbound J24 to J21

M62 closed in both directions due to a number of collisions
The M62 is currently closed eastbound from junction 20 and westbound between junction 24 to junction 21 due to two separate collisions on Tuesday afternoon (16 March).
The first incident has closed the eastbound carriageway from junction 20 (Thornham for Rochdale & Oldham) to junction 26 (Bradford), whilst the second has closed the westbound carriageway from junction 24 (Ainley Top) to junction 21 (Milnrow).
Traffic heading westbound from Rochdale towards Manchester/Liverpool is unaffected.
Emergency services including West Yorkshire Police, West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service, Yorkshire Ambulance Service and Air Ambulance are in attendance. Highways England has resources deployed to assist.
