WHECTV Created: January 27, 2021 05:01 PM ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Behavioral Health Access and Crisis Center in Rochester is expanding. The goal is to help more people with mental health and substance abuse issues, without a trip to the emergency room. Rochester Regional Health plans to make the crisis center available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, starting in the spring. Right now, it's open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to midnight. News10NBC The center is looking to hire nine full-time and four per diem clinical evaluators. Plus, three part-time peers. "We believe that expanding the crisis center's hours to 24/7 will improve the footprint that we currently have into a highly reliable location or destination for people who do need crisis services," Director of Acute Behavioral Health Colin Scantlin said.
