Rochester Regional expanding Behavioral Health Access and Crisis Center

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) The Behavioral Health Access and Crisis Center in Rochester is expanding.
The goal is to help more people with mental health and substance abuse issues, without a trip to the emergency room.
Rochester Regional Health plans to make the crisis center available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, starting in the spring.
Right now, it s open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to midnight.

The center is looking to hire nine full-time and four per diem clinical evaluators. Plus, three part-time peers.
We believe that expanding the crisis center s hours to 24/7 will improve the footprint that we currently have into a highly reliable location or destination for people who do need crisis services, Director of Acute Behavioral Health Colin Scantlin said. ....
