Thu, 12/17/2020 - 1:45pm -- tim Vermont Business Magazine In an ongoing effort to identify and support the most vital water quality projects in the region, the Rutland Regional Planning Commission (RRPC) will assist the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation in collecting and cataloging water quality data from area municipalities in the Rutland Region between now and August 2020. As part of the Vermont Clean Water Act’s goal of reducing phosphorous and other nutrients from getting into the region’s waterways, the RRPC will help the state maintain the Watersheds Projects Database to update specific assessed projects. This database includes all VT DEC water quality projects, such as those identified by Tactical Basin Plans, road erosion inventories to support stormwater planning for municipal roads, river corridor studies, and Stormwater Master Plans. The RRPC’s work will focus on potential projects within the Rutland Region section of the Otter Creek and the Lower Lake Champlain watersheds.
