RT The News With Rick Sanchez July 13, 2024
Already on the brink but this pandemic has quite literally pushed it off the cliff all right so just how contentious is this today as china is threatening the
United States
warships are presently staring at each other on the
South China Sea
the us president insists on punishing china with more and more trade tariffs and now china is being accused of being responsible for the pandemic maybe even that they did it on purpose so say some of the accusations thats why china today is pushing back more on that in a minute but lets continue this narrative in other words the scene is set for another new enemy another cold war and what is a cold war by definition its a state of political hostility between 2 countries characterized by threats propaganda to short of open warfare by the way the history of our country is replete with these types of relationships im a go to the wall to show you some of the things that were talking about it begins 1998 even before becoming a world power the
United States
was i a necessary enemy and it found one in spain threats propaganda led to the spanish american war played out 10 generally in battles in places like cuba there were other enemies of course other incidents of world war 2 so a much more necessary obviously but the mother lode of all cold wars by classic definition began in 1905 and lasted until 1990 the russians are coming at became the mantra for all americans as the
United States
the soviet bloc essentially faced each other down while creating the economy then infrastructures literally built on the ability to be able to destroy each other. And then came out 11 and after 9112000 september 11th 2000 want our country was attacked but rather than focus on afghanistan and a few other countries where al qaeda and the taliban had carried out the attacks we came up with a cold war against an enemy simply described as terrorists but more often than not were also identified as islamic fundamentalists that cold war if we can call it that has lasted decades and now it appears were on the brink of a new one a new cold war. With china experts both in the
United States
and in china are saying now that they see it coming and they warn that it will prolong the pandemic decrease
Economic Growth
and potentially even lead to military confrontations so why do cold wars come about who stands to gain from them if anybody lets ask these questions right here on the news of rick sanchez where we believe its time to do news again. Here is our list of the questions we think youll be asking tomorrow are we heading for another cold war this time with china does the future have a 3rd of all americans now working from home and when did the u. S. Government actually start taking covert 19 seriously. All right as we begin this newscast let me read to you what china is doing today ok today it says it will no longer submit to u. S. Lawsuits and legislation aimed at blaming them beijing for the
Coronavirus Crisis
and it is therefore announcing that it has already begun counter sanctions against officials and entire states who are doing this against them theyre pushing back joining us now to talk about this is former pentagon official
Michael Maloof
former u. S. Trade representative under president s bush and
Clinton Steve
gill and also with us is former member of the
British Parliament
George Galloway
my thanks to all 3 of you gentlemen what a distinguished panel we are honored to have on this day mr gill i think i want to begin with you. As we look at this situation we cant help but wonder just how far this will go and whether theres some way we can stop it if indeed its taking place what are your thoughts. I think its very difficult to stop you know the genies kind of out of the bottle at this point and weve had difficult trade relations with china now for a while we thought we had made progress with the trade deal that had been reached but then the pandemic approach then were getting more and more information that they may have had if not a direct at least an indirect role in not releasing information that is just exacerbated not only the problems of the
Economic Issues
but also just general relations and
International Relations
overall so i think we are way down the path to suddenly push a button and sort of reset so i hear in your words that you believe that china is getting exactly what it deserves. I know youre getting exactly what they deserve but i think this this is not softball this is hard ball they have been playing hard in the trade arena for a while theyre clearly playing hard in the arena when it comes to
Economic Warfare
and in some cases kind of pushing the edge of the envelope when it comes to military action so were down the path the question is whether or not were going to have the strength both. Economically and in terms of
International Cooperation
i think were seeing some of that other countries as well that are pushing back on china
George Galloway
please respond. Well its a bit like the 1st world war. Weve just heard from your guest mr gill the once these things are on the move they begin to have a momentum of the tone im sure you contrary to what mr bill thinks youll be alone in this one absolutely no one in europe all the rest of the world wants to have a fight with china not economically and bet your
Bottom Dollar
not militarily so the
United States
will have to as he put it have the strength to see this through and thats very questionable indeed your farm arse just sold a quarter of a 1000000 tons of soya beans to china this very week china is slated to buy hundreds of billions of dollars of your goods and
Services According
to the trade deal in the next 3 months if you want to kiss goodbye to all the well thats on you its your silver and right to decide it but dont think youll be dragging the rest of us with you because we wont be coming lets bring in mike malloy if i want to read something to you this is from pat buchanan i think all 3 of you know people pat buchanan i like pat i know some people you know have questioned him over the years but i think hes a very smart guy hes definitely a right winger right he says this in a column he wrote just this week 3 decades of post cold war foolish and failed democracy crusading have left this generation not with the conviction and certitude of cold war america but with the ashes in their mouths and no stomach to spend blood and treasure converting china to our way of life hes writing this column about just this very topic the possibility of a cold war with china he says we aint ready for it shouldnt do it
Michael Maloof
to you. You know i think that now that the coronavirus shredded the
American Economy
china sees an opportunity now economically to. Become that world power that theyve been hoping to to achieve now weve brought a lot of that upon ourselves as you can and as pointed out the neo cons for example the neo conservatives theyre the ones who are pushing the adversarial role of china and china of course is to standing up to that and has become more adversarial as a consequence its a selffulfilling prophecy as a consequence and so what were seeing ourselves in gradually and there is a new hybrid where there are a combination of economic political military aggrandizement and as a result of the coronavirus level in our economy now china sees this opportunity to to become that more economic. Powerhouse that it intends to be through its belt
Road Initiative
and by extension will be developed in the military to defend it and were seeing that already throughout the indian ocean but seen in the throughout africa and even into latin america mr gill isnt that exactly what some of the folks over down the street from me here at raytheon and other places want lets get china to
Start Building
up its military that way we get to build up our military and man were going to have a lot of money and a lot more power do you fear stuff like that. I dont think thats the real motivation but i do agree with mr maloof that youre seeing china and they have been doing this for a while with their belt
Road Initiative
trying to expand their influence into africa into south america into other regions of the world and i think weve been asleep at the switch we have been awoke to the fact that for example about 90 percent of our medications have been coming from from china when this whole p. P. T. Disaster started about 90 percent were coming from china and they shut down the flow is as they were dating to have them for their own pandemic so this is not something new i do think that china is not happy that were there for all those so that outsourced so i got to stop you there for just a moment how is that their fault that we told china to do all our medications and do a lot of our stuff and then were going to be mad at them because theyre doing i dont understand. We great i do it we went cheat and were paying the price for going cheap rather than doing it right i think that you are already seeing the particulars this trade war develop you are seeing
Companies Move
out of china into vietnam into in the ija and malaysia philippines youre going to see that speed up now a lot of those companies are going to be china owned companies that are doing it so it really doesnt change the bottom line totally but youre going to see a different
Global Economic
atmosphere after this is over and its not always going to be to chinas benefit
George Galloway
let me come back to you it does seem and the reason i explained that at the beginning of my show that the
United States
has always had an enemy sort of speak or different little cold wars is because they seem almost necessary your country the brits for many years were in that same situation seems like weve kind of taken over that mantle now am i wrong. No youre right and of course not all are benefits for the military
Industrial Complex
all of having an enemy but i dont see donald trump in quite that way i have a feeling the crusade hes on will not last longer than november and. If he is reelected then he will very firmly quietly maybe turn it back down again because i see him as a pragmatic guy and the prospectus that mr gill outlines is potentially totally disastrous for the
United States
they the components of you are things that come from death the amount of you have things that they buy and the amount of your debt the all in and the fact that the stock market n. B. G. In this day is booming whilst our stock markets are tanking the world has already voted with its feet it recognizes china as the new superpower and of the

here ive got a new show. There welcome back im rick sanchez today the director of find the duty of coming up with a plan for dealing with pandemics like but coronavirus is testifying before congress his name is rick bright dr rick right now he was fired after complaining about our governments response and the story hes telling in congress by the way a very methodical and a very dispassionate way does not paint a pretty picture of how our government has dealt with cope with 19 even one compared to other countries in the world for example with more on that now which is obviously. The big coronavirus update desk lead story lets go over to ben this is quite a testimony. It really is theres really 3 elements to it rick that i think are important the 1st is what you just alluded to which is why rick wright was fired in the 1st place he says that he was fired from his position position excuse me at h. H. S. Because he would not push forward the trump administrations line about. Hydrochloric when malaria antimalaria drug he says it was not enough testing and not enough robust testing to know whether or not that would actually have a positive effect on coronavirus now we know that some doctors have said that it does there is anecdotal evidence of it but theres not enough to do a full study obviously were behind the curve on all of this anyways but he says that he was not willing to push that and thats why he was fired but he also said that hes had a whole series of warnings that have been coming out for quite a while including the warnings over facemask saying that there were not enough in the 95 facemasks in the country he warned him about this hes been warning the country about it for about 13 years he says and then when we found ourselves in this moment is remember in the beginning everyone said dont bother with facemasks politicians were saying that the w. H. O. Was saying it then all of a sudden everybody flipped and said actually you should wear a face mask and he says and thats when the u. S. Got caught from a height and realize that they didnt have enough face masks to get to everybody so he had already been putting out warnings about that and he says those warnings have not and continue to not be heeded as i watched him he seems if i can use this term not a derogatory way but almost nerdy and i mean that in i mean that in a good way like this guys not into politics this guys not hes just saying i did an equation 2. 00 and 2. 00 came out with 4 i told him it was 4 and they kept telling me it was 5 so i kept arguing and they fired me i mean thats almost as rudimentary as it sounds its almost a sense i get from the argument that this guys making. Well i think we just lost that bet i apologize. Well essentially what he said was look we in this push to get a vaccine done he says his new warning is that it may not be ready and if it is not ready if we cut corners to get to a vaccine for political reasons we could wind up with something much worse off of the country so hes already warned us about you know hydrochloric what hes already warned about the face mask for years and now he says his new warning is dont cut corners with the vaccine and dont try to rush something on to the market because remember there is now talk rick about creating multiple different vaccines for. Coronavirus so hes well you know listen that argument i get it i mean everybody wants to have the vaccine out there as soon as we can get it and you know anybody could be hyper critical of the fact that would be like your boss telling you i need that report as soon as you can get it out and then you quitting because you felt like i was rushing you so i im not sure thats the best argument against this i think will come down to less unless youre saying unless you say that report out but it could kill someone if you do it oh no no no thats the point of the scientists are saying i understand i think i think the point im making is theres so much material in what this guys arguments are that im just glad hes out there so we can examine so we can do it right in the future or get it right now and thats thats the point great conversation as usual appreciate it and now this there is a strong reaction today to what appears to be a horrible mistake or maybe even an act of incompetence on the part of police in kentucky they were serving a warrant on a drug dealer so they thought but the person that they were looking for had already been arrested witnesses say

Marshal matthew fogg is good enough to share his a thoughts on this a chief thanks so much for joining us you know i want to start with i was just reading the articles about this and the warrant itself troubles me apparently they were given a warrant gives them permission to enter without warning because one of the suspects once received packaged at her house what i mean does that give if i invite you to my house and apparently at some time in the past youve done something and theyre looking for you does that give police to break the right to break down my door. Well there and then affidavits and theres and especially if there was say an informant involved a lot of times you keep get lindsay stuff like that you take good judgment sometimes you can get just authorize a war the problem is there was no knock and they had the wrong door and this is where he stole my guys last time we get these rays i said look here we got to be sure we get the right location yeah theyre so easy to the wrong location and once that happens immediately things happen and when you talk about no knock i mean a lot of times and i was reading in this information where and of course is the media reading of mason where they say if they knock several times that doesnt add up to what im used to dont we do these warrants because were afraid that the people will be slowing the evidence so a lot of times you might have had over the same time you have breaking and entering so no but im not sure i understand ive been you know i made my living as a cop a reporter for many years my brothers of chief in miami so rare are times when youre going after people who are so bad and so dangerous and youre intel tells you theres 5 guys behind there and they all got machine guns that youre not going to knock hello this is from where im from all the intel im reading here 1st of all the guy had already been arrested how could they not let all that cheap. Thats right and thats thats the problem what you have its like what was the motive what was the reason for them to go into that place once the man was already arrested if found out about any of the investigation subsequent addle afterwards and theyre going to determine whether or not they you know these drugs were actually going to displace or whatever it is i grew to understand it deceived like it was a box situation as we saw it has gone in to the long location and then once they got india the man did have a right to defend himself because he thinks yeah that his house broken into of people coming in with guns hes got a right if its legal to. Do what he did. Let me ask you now let me ask you a question who got experience dealing with this kind of things all too badly who was the person in charge if there was a mistake was it the sergeant on the scene is it his commander who was all too badly the person who may have messed up here. Well off limits dont come back on to the cheap but but the supervisor i want to see once they got a warrant in and they decide they want to go into this location it is what do we do how are we going to approach this that person on the scene the manager on the same would be just back to solving all court whoever he is thats one of you call it a shock to say ok lets hit it lets go you guys got all the information lets go do this thing i want to not done i am listening to this i can tell that it was very cavalier and probably how they had it and what was actually inside that apartment but youre right if youre just talking about a package that was a living there right it made no sense to him to go in with that type of 5 pound when it was but that happens ive seen that happen quite a few times working with state local departments around the country and again as again we see these disparate impacts on people of color you have community you know weak way they consider hey we can get away with it yet so the bottom line is yes when you look at all of the information and all of you say this was totally a wrong scenario that went totally south went bad and bottom line is somebody died in the act and down to 30 seconds but i think youll agree they should probably just come clean on this thing and say we made a mistake lets admit to it before this thing as the governor is now calling for an investigation royals out of control do you agree. Yet but please dont do it thats what they dont do the problem its based on trust they come back and immediately stop the find ways that have themselves theyre excited poor as it gets get out stories together thats thats what to explain we do a lot to explain the unexplainable change your good man im so glad you joined us thank you my friend certainly appreciate it mike thats our new sex so much for being with us im rick sanchez stay connected up portable people download it by the way there are 2 other ways now you can go to roku or you can use we have on fire stephanie where there c.
