SAS veteran Rusty Firmin is due to hold a talk at the Harraby theatre this summer The Harraby Theatre has announced that former SAS soldier Rusty Firmin will be hosting a talk on July 10. On the 40th anniversary of the Iranian Embassy siege, Firmin will be talking about his experiences of the moment that gripped the country and other tales of his life. Firmin was born in Carlisle and was adopted at an early age. He had a coveted military career, joining the 49 Field Regiment Artillery at the age of just 17. He completed several tours of Northern Ireland as a patrol commander and soon volunteered to serve with 29 Commando Regiment Royal Artillery.
