SA Liberals slide to minority government after ICAC charges Save Share South Australiaâs Liberal government has been plunged into minority after a country MP resigned from the Liberal Party following charges over alleged misuse of his travel allowance. The stateâs Independent Commissioner Against Corruption, Ann Vanstone, QC, said Fraser Ellis had been charged with 23 counts of deception for claims worth more than $18,000 over a two-year period until June 2020. Ms Vanstone, who took over from the stateâs first ICAC commissioner Bruce Lander last year, issued a statement on Friday saying she âwould not ordinarily name a person charged as a result of an investigation by me, but in light of Mr Ellisâ statement in Parliament this morning, it is appropriate that I do so on this occasionâ.
