Saudi Fares wins bronze award in APIO 2021 The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has won a bronze award in the Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad (APIO) 2021; organized virtually by Indonesia. The Saudi informatics national team’s made its debut in the Olympiad; which saw the presence of 35 countries. Fares Bin Ibrahim Basiouni; a student at Education Department of the Royal Commission for Yanbu; won the bronze award among participants representing the most powerful countries in the Asia-Pacific region in the field of informatics; such as Japan; China and Russia. This year; APIO 2021 was hosted again by Indonesia. For most of the participating countries; APIO 2021 serves as one of the main “TST”s (Team Selection Tests) for IOI 2021.
