Alexander Conyers, the school's new acting president, decided to clear account balances for more than 2,500 students. SC State student Aubrey Brown say the move helps him significantly since he pays close to $4,000 a semester to live in the dorms. "9.8 million dollars, that is no joke, that's a lot of money," Brown said. "Everybody is excited and ready to see what is next. I was getting a haircut, and I saw the news in our student email. I was like, 'I don't have to pay any more money!' It's good to know they are caring about the students' balances more so now."
