Print Tyler Waldman, WBAL NewsRadio 1090 and FM 101.5 Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott on Friday invoked local emergency powers to maintain the city's current public health restrictions. The order took effect at 6 a.m. Gov. Larry Hogan's executive order, which would lift almost all occupancy restrictions, takes effect at 5 p.m. Most Maryland jurisdictions are adopting that recommendation, with some interpreting language in the latest order as nullifying most local restrictions. Scott and Health Commissioner Dr. Letitia Dzirasa will evaluate metrics and decide how to move forward next week. "I know the weather is nice and we are all anxious to be together and be out but the pandemic isn't over," Scott said. "Don't let the thrill of a good time harm your health or the health of someone you care about."
