ScottishPower unveils plans for UK’s largest electrolyser ScottishPower has today (12 th April) unveiled plans for what it says will be the UK’s largest electrolyser to be built on the outskirts of Glasgow, Scotland. The energy firm has submitted a planning application for a new 20MW electrolyser which would be built close to the UK’s largest onshore windfarm, Whitelee. The electrolyser is part of a green hydrogen facility that ScottishPower says will be capable of producing eight tonnes of green hydrogen per day – roughly equivalent to fuelling over 550 buses to travel from Glasgow to Edinburgh and back again each day.
