PARENTS have started a fundraising campaign to secure a new lease of life for a sculpture at a west Swindon school. The piece called Together was first installed nearly two decades ago on the grounds of Westlea Primary School by local artist Gordon Dickinson. Mum-of-two Nina Cope, who is a member of the parent teacher association put out an appeal on behalf of the group to find the artist - and someone willing to restore the sculpture made of mild steel. She said: “I didn’t actually know who had made the sculpture. So, I reached out on Facebook and within half an hour, I had his name, and his email address and I contacted him.”
