SD DOH: 257 total new COVID-19 cases, three deaths statewide April 16, 2021 Two of the 255 total cases are considered as new probable cases. Three new deaths were reported, bringing the state death toll to 1,952. 21 confirmed cases were reported West River: Six in Pennington County, three in Lawrence County, two each in Meade, Oglala Lakota and Tripp Counties and one each in Bennett, Butte, Custer, Gregory, Jackson and Mellette Counties.. No new probable cases were reported West River. In South Dakota, 2,201 cases are considered active, that number is down from 2,328 on Thursday. An additional 663 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 116,703.
