A LUCKY passer-by was fortunate enough to spot a lone seal swimming through a part of Southampton water. Mark Dutton was walking along Weston Shore today when he spied the grey head poking out of the sea. Mark quickly grabbed his camera and took a snap of the unusual visitor. He said that the seal's visit was "interesting" as this area has "previously been known as a polluted part of Southampton water". It comes just days after Daily Echo Camera Club member Vicky Ross was lucky enough to capture a huge seal on camera while walking along Beaulieu River. Vicky, who took the photos at Beaulieu River Sailing Club early on Monday morning, told our reporter that she often sees the seal, as well as others, during the early hours on the River.
