Scott Park | MLive.com Facebook Share JACKSON, MI - Changes to the state’s funding formula amid the COVID-19 pandemic have altered the way school districts are approaching and interpreting the Michigan’s count day data, Northwest Community Schools Superintendent Geoff Bontrager said. Those changes have allowed Jackson County schools more opportunities to count students virtually, while not penalizing districts that might have lost a large number of students during the pandemic, Bontrager said.
