CHICAGO (WLS) -- There have been thousands of pieces of missing or delayed mail and no clear answers from the postal service in Chicago. Residents on the South and Southwest sides have been complaining about problems with mail delivery for months now. The delayed mail, including letters and packages from those locations, total over 62,000 from last September through February. Senator Dick Durbin discussed mail delivery delays in Chicago during a press conference Sunday afternoon. "They've got to have an honest assessment of the resources and the demands of the post office. They don't have enough resources dedicated to get the job done," Senator Durbin said. "That I think is highest priority."
