9 & 10 News June 30, 2021 The state legislature held their final session before their summer break trying to finish and agree upon a state budget plan, butting right up against the deadline. The legislature and the governor’s office put together a self-imposed deadline of July 1 to have their budget plan done. This is in order to give school districts a chance to lay out their budget for the upcoming school year. This year, it was coming down right down to the deadline and they got a deal done, part of it. “I’m excited that we are able to get our education funded,” said Senator Jim Stamas of Midland.
