NEWBURGH, Ind. — Authorities are investigating after a body was recovered from the Ohio River near the Newburgh Lock and Dam Monday afternoon. At 1:19 p.m., Warrick County dispatchers received a call from the lockmaster that a tugboat had spotted the body in the river, Sheriff Mike Wilder said. The tugboat secured the body on the water until fire crews brought the body to shore, according to Wilder. A joint investigation between the sheriff's office and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources is underway. Foul play is not suspected to be a factor, according to a news release from DNR Monday evening.
