Sheriff encourages residents to join Michigan Sheriff’s Association Hillsdale Daily News HILLSDALE — In response to the need for improved, widespread public safety awareness and to assist local sheriffs in protecting the lives and property of citizens throughout Michigan, Hillsdale County Sheriff Scott Hodshire announced Wednesday a campaign that encourages Hillsdale County residents to become Associate Members of the Michigan Sheriffs' Association (MSA). Individuals choosing to join the voluntary program can do so for as little as $25, while businesses can show their support with a $50 contribution. MSA provides essential programs to improve the training of law enforcement officers, provide assistance to victims of crime, and much-needed scholarships to Michigan students pursuing a criminal justice degree. MSA also provides support and assistance to the families and agencies of an officer who has died in the line of duty.
