Popular cable series is being revived for a limited 10-episode run this year Telegram & Gazette GARDNER — “Dexter,” Showtime’s series about a serial killer with a heart of gold, might be the next project filmed in central Massachusetts, possibly in Gardner among the other locations under consideration. The Boston Globe, citing “a source familiar to the production,” reported Showtime will primarily film “Dexter” in communities that include Worcester, Gardner, Lancaster and Sterling. In an interview on Jan. 6, Joshua Cormier, film liaison and purchasing director for the city of Gardner (which also had scenes shot for the Hulu streaming series "Castle Rock"), said while they are getting their share of film scouts, they don't have any projects confirmed.
