Siemens Energy currently employs more than 800 at the Olean facility. Most of the jobs affected by Tuesday’s announcement are manufacturing positions, with Siemens announcing it will lay off 7,800 across its global workforce by 2025 as the company restructures its Power and Gas division. Officials anticipate the employee transfers and layoffs will be implemented in phases over the next year, extending into the middle of 2022.
