Picture: Google Streetview Work is set to start to restore a Carlisle bridge that forms part of the city’s walking and cycling network, making it safer for users. Skew Bridge in Denton Holme, part of the much-used cycle path from Carlisle to Dalston south of the city following the course of the River Caldew, will be given a £70,000 upgrade after funding for the project was agreed by Carlisle City Council’s leadership. Skew Bridge, which is owned by the city council, is located on the River Caldew, to the rear of the Denton Holme branch of the supermarket Lidl.
