Yoni Epstein, Chairman of the Global Services Skills Council, noted that it is critical to implement the strategy to further strengthen Jamaica’s value proposition for the GSS and to expand the island’s capability to attract more investments. The Global Services Sector Project (GSSP) is finalising its skills upgrade strategy that will empower Jamaicans with the technical and professional skills needed to function effectively in today’s Global Services Sector (GSS). The GSS comprises Information Technology Outsourcing (ITO), Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO), and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO). The two-year strategy, which was developed through consultations with companies and stakeholders in the outsourcing and tech industry, has outlined seven key skills and knowledge areas that must be acquired by Jamaicans who aim to excel in the GSS.
