Skowhegan science project offers birding tips April 11 Share Skowhegan Outdoors will be at Lake George Regional Park, West, from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, April 11, to discuss how to get involved with a community science project, and help researchers collect data with minimal prior knowledge. The park is located at West Lake George Park Road in Skowhegan. The Maine Bird Atlas program — an ongoing community science program — will be covered, as well as beginner birding tips and tricks. Participants can then use newfound knowledge to look for and record bird sightings on a 1.5-mile stroll through the woods. This program is for anyone who interested in birding, ecology, and conservation; birding experience is not required.
