Share Activists in Nashville this weekend held a series of "24 Hour Display of Power" events in response to violence, beginning Friday night with a service at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Bordeaux. The event continued Saturday with a march to and rally at the Metro Courthouse downtown. The events â organized in part by members of Black Nashville Assembly â were staged as a form of violence interruption in response to recent deadly incidents in Nashville. Indeed, within hours of the events' commencement, a man carrying a knife was shot and killed by a police officer in Bordeaux, roughly a mile-and-a-half from Friendship Missionary Baptist.
