The snow also lingered long enough for some drivers to wind up in ditches and with insurance claims. Area law enforcement reports there were a few accidents that occurred on snow-covered roads last night, but no reports of any serious injuries. This morning, most major roadways in the area are clear, still, law enforcement urges drivers to use caution. “Secondary roads and main roads may have icy spots or may not be completely clear yet,” says Habersham County Sheriff’s Lt. Matthew Wurtz. “The roadways will clear up more as the sunshine/day progresses. If you don’t have to travel at this time, wait till later during the day when conditions are better.”
