Now that the final day of the legislative session has passed, time has run out on the proposed hate crimes bill for the 2021 session.
Business groups in the state made passage of the bill a top priority this year and were encouraged when the state House of Representatives passed the bill in April, but the proposal stalled in the state Senate. The bill remains on the calendar for next year.
