Jim Gillis Talk about your dubious anniversaries. Five years ago, Rhode Island launched its "Cooler and Warmer" tourism campaign. The title could have been from a movie filmed here decades ago — "Dumb and Dumber." The campaign became a laughing stock. Nobody could figure out exactly what "Cooler and Warmer" meant, sort of a TV weather forecast from a meteorologist on a bender. If you think that was amusing, it became more absurd a short time later. The campaign featured footage of a young guy skateboarding. Turns out he was skating in Iceland. The backdrop resembled "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo." And it sparked the nickname "Rhode Iceland."
