April 5, 2021 A handful of road construction projects will be getting underway across the Blue Water Area over the next week. Bridge maintenance on Bricker Road over the Mill Creek in Kenockee Township will close the road to through traffic starting tomorrow until April 27th. The posted detour will include M-136, Brown Road, and Thomas Roads. The cost of the $105,000 project is being financed by federal, county, and township dollars. In Clay Township, Flamingo Road is limited to one-lane traffic for replacement of a bridge. Left-turn movement from M-29 onto Flamingo Road is prohibited with left-turn traffic being detoured. A large resurfacing project will begin on I-69 in Lapeer County along next week. The Michigan Department of Transportation will resurface about 8.3 miles of I-69 with new asphalt between Newark Road and the St. Clair County Line. That work is being financed by the rebuilding Michigan bond program.
