It’s been a dreadful season for the Prince George Spruce Kings, but they aren’t prepared to write if off yet. The Spruce Kings are eight points behind the seventh-place Quesnel Millionaires with 17 games remaining, far from mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. While the Spruce Kings occupy the basement of the B.C. Hockey League with a record of eight wins, 33 losses, zero ties and two overtime defeats (8-33-0-2), seven of eight Interior Conference teams qualify for the playoffs. Therefore, despite their poor record and struggles the past couple of months, postseason hopes are still alive for the league’s northernmost team.
