Some welcome it, while others are not embracing it. “The workforce is here if somebody wanted to come,” Neuwirth said. Mayor Robert Barnhill felt differently about the village getting bigger. “I really don’t see much growth going on here, because basically we’re a farming community” Barnhill said. “When St. Helena was settled it was laid down in 10-acre tracks. A good number of them are leased by farmers and they continue to farm here. That’s really what we wanted – to leave it much like it is now. “If they ever quit farming, I’m sure this place will fill up with houses," Barnhill added. “I don’t think that’s going to happen anytime soon.”
