ST JOSEPH’S Catholic Primary School in Malvern has been awarded a national Science Quality Mark to celebrate a commitment to excellence in science teaching and learning. The Primary Science Quality Mark – Gilt Level was awarded to more than 330 infant, junior, primary, middle and special schools across the country. Schools that achieve PSQM demonstrate commitment and expertise in science leadership, teaching and learning. Assessors identified the grounds and outdoor areas at St Joseph’s, alongside the weekly Forest School sessions for all classes, as having a key role in supporting practical science activities in school as well as being particularly helpful over the past year in supporting children’s mental health through Covid-19 restrictions.
