“As an opera company, we’re about as small as you can get – we’re three people running a little organisation that can bring in up to 80 people,” says Deborah Cheetham.
The founding artistic director of Short Black Opera, Cheetham is also a celebrated composer, soprano, actor and playwright; she established the company with Toni Lalich and Jess Hitchcock in 2009.
