State health officials monitoring new COVID-19 vaccine as cases and hospitalizations drop

Health officials in Nevada are monitoring the progress of a new vaccine from Johnson & Johnson as already-approved vaccines continue to be administered.
Johnson & Johnson announced on Thursday that its single-shot vaccine has moved into phase three of clinical trials.
While there is no word on how the new vaccine could impact the current vaccine timeline in Nevada, state public health official Candice McDaniel said they are paying close attention to its development.
