State slates meeting on Westborough, Southborough bridge replacements Community Content The Massachusetts Department of Transportation will host a virtual public information meeting for the Acceler-8 Interstate 90 Bridge Replacements Project at 6 p.m. Feb. 9 via Zoom. The virtual meeting will include a presentation and discussion on the project that seeks to replace eight bridges located on I-90 eastbound and westbound over Flanders Road, Parkerville Road, Cordaville Road and Woodland Road. The preparatory work for the project in Westborough and Southborough will begin in February, and bridge construction operations will be conducted over eight weekends between June and August. MassDOT is using a rapid bridge replacement approach to minimize disruptions. This approach will reduce the duration of the project from potentially three years using traditional construction methods to approximately one year. In advance of the eight weekends, preparatory work will be performed on I-90 and on the local streets. The project also will include the refacing of existing abutments at Woodland Road, Parkerville Road and Flanders Road and constructing new abutments at Cordaville Road.
