Students in Staten Island schools will participate in blended learning, learning in-person for part of the week and remote learning the rest of the time. STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Public high school students on Staten Island had the highest percentage of remote learners compared to all other grade levels.
Data from the city Department of Education (DOE) shows that of 18,078 students enrolled in borough high schools, 14,190 students have been learning remotely since September 2020. Between 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades, 9th grade had the most remote learners with 3,682 students.
