States may buy their own vaccines but it still boils down to availability, says Khairy

IPOH: The government does not have any objections if states want to buy vaccines on their own, says Khairy Jamaluddin.
The coordinating minister for the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme said, however, that the issue was not about the purchase, but the availability of supply.
He said everyone wanted to buy vaccines, but the main issue was access (to supply).
“If the states are able to procure the vaccines, I have no issue with that, and we can even give permission, but at this moment, there is a problem of supply, ” he told reporters after visiting the vaccination centre at Stadium Indera Mulia here on Tuesday (March 16).
