KUALA LUMPUR (May 28): Rubberex Corp (M) Bhd s net profit for the first quarter ended March 31, 2021 (1QFY21) surged nine times to a record high of RM86.57 million from RM9.26 million a year ago, on higher demand for glove products and higher average glove selling prices. Its quarterly revenue also jumped more than two times to RM175.24 million, from RM66.43 million a year ago, its filing to Bursa Malaysia showed. The group did not declare any dividend for the latest quarter. The group said its reported profit included a gain of RM5.9 million from the dissolution and deregistration of Rubberex (Hong Kong) Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, from the Companies Registry of Hong Kong in February. ....
IPOH: People living within the Kinta district who are unsure whether their area is placed under the enhanced movement control order can download an application on their mobile phones to check. Perak police chief Comm Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said the “PerakGIS” app by the Perak Survey and Mapping Department allows people to check on that status. He said all they needed to do was to type their house address to check if their area falls under the enhanced MCO list. “Since the district is huge, and some areas are situated at border towns, this app will be a great help. ....
IPOH: The government does not have any objections if states want to buy vaccines on their own, says Khairy Jamaluddin. The coordinating minister for the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme said, however, that the issue was not about the purchase, but the availability of supply. He said everyone wanted to buy vaccines, but the main issue was access (to supply). “If the states are able to procure the vaccines, I have no issue with that, and we can even give permission, but at this moment, there is a problem of supply, ” he told reporters after visiting the vaccination centre at Stadium Indera Mulia here on Tuesday (March 16). ....
