THEY did it. The intrepid children of Stoke Prior First School not only reached their target of walking, running or cycling more than 2,200 miles to Santa’s Lapland home, they actually overshot it! The 150 pupils needed to reach 2,236 miles between them in an arctic challenge to raise money for a new playground. But when all the miles were totted up they found that they had done 2,312 – that’s 76 miles more. Of course the children weren’t actually going to the icy north, they completed their challenge in the local area individually, sometimes to and from school, other times out with their parents.
