Photo Credit: York Regional Police Chocolate anyone? York Regional Police recently recovered more than $600,000 worth of stolen chocolate and nuts as part of an ongoing cargo theft investigation. The investigation began in November, when the Auto/Cargo Theft Unit identified a group stealing loads of cargo. The Unit located a stolen tractor trailer loaded with 55 skids, or $360,000 worth of chocolate, in Toronto. Then, on Dec. 13, a second stolen tractor trailer was found in Vaughan. It contained 22 skids of pecans, worth $270.000. Three men, two from Brampton, and one from Toronto, were charged with various offences including trafficking in property obtained by crime over $5,000, theft of a motor vehicle over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and flight from police.
