In a statement, the CHR said there is a need for inclusivity and healing for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual (LGBTQIA+) community in observance of International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia today, May 17. It said that theme for this year’s observance is “Together: Resisting, Supporting, Healing.” In its post on Twitter, the CHR said that Filipinos can start the healing by reviewing policies that have a negative impact on the rights of vulnerable sectors such as sexual and gender minorities, since they are often the targets of discrimination, stigmatization, and abuse.
