Thanks, Darren, for posting about them! -- On the etymological theme of my comment on yesterday's post: European languages just don't have the resources to talk about antelope! Not only is the common name, "eland,' from a word for elk, but the Linnean name "Taurotragus" is, like many other antelope generics, cobbled together from words for Artiodactyls better known to Europeans: "Bull-goat"!
