St. John’s Lutheran School in Stuttgart’s archery teams placed in an Arkansas National Archery in the Schools Program regional tournament in February. Earlier this month, area students participated in the Arkansas National Archery in the Schools Program State Championship. Normally, teams from 12 regions face off at the state-wide competition held at Bank OZK Arena in Hot Springs. Andrew Skinner, head archery coach at St. John’s Lutheran School in Stuttgart, said this year’s event looked different because of the coronavirus pandemic. “Normally, 100 kids would be shooting at the same time. The environment is a whole day out of school with a lot of things to do. This year, COVID-19 prevented us from getting together,” Skinner said.
