Suffield fixes intersection with history of crashes

SUFFIELD — Town officials are continuing to tackle roadway safety issues with the most recent action being to fix the “problematic” intersection of Halladay Avenue East and Mapleton Avenue that has been rife with accidents.
After several complaints from residents and at least three accidents in November alone at the intersection, First Selectwoman Melissa Mack and Police Chief Richard Brown decided to take immediate action.
INTERSECTION FIX
WHERE: Intersection of Halladay Avenue East and Mapleton Avenue in Suffield.
WHAT: On the right side of Halladay Avenue East where a reflective pole with a stop sign had long stood, that was moved further back and another sign that reads “proceed to stop line” was also mounted to the pole.
