Image SummerWorks is a professional development, mentorship, and paid work experience for young adults, 16 to 24 years old, in Washtenaw County. The program, now in its sixth year, was designed to provide young adults with tools, work experience, and exposure to different career paths. Young adults and employers can sign up for the program online at SummerWorks.info. Applications for young adults are open through March 19 th. one participant. "I feel more prepared for my next job and future career." SummerWorks is a partnership between Washtenaw County Office of Community and Economic Development, Michigan Works! Southeast, and the University of Michigan Poverty Solutions. Last year, the partners were able to pivot to continue the program during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, SummerWorks underwent significant changes in 2020, which resulted in exciting new programming that will be continued this year, including mentoring from local business and nonprofit leaders and career talks from a variety of industries.
