Suspect In February Attack Arrested For Attempted Homicide Bay City News Service FacebookTwitterEmail SANTA CRUZ (BCN) A 32-year-old Santa Cruz man was arrested Tuesday for attempted homicide in connection with the assault of another man in February at a homeless camp, Santa Cruz police said. The attack was reported about 7 a.m. Feb. 24 at an encampment at San Lorenzo Park at 137 Dakota Ave., where officers found the victim suffering from severe head injuries. He was hospitalized in critical condition and is expected to survive. Investigators identified the suspected attacker as Jose Dante Espinosa and obtained a warrant for his arrest on suspicion of attempted homicide.
